- “The role of the teacher remains the highest calling of a free people. To the teacher, America entrusts her most precious resource, her children; and asks that they be prepared…to face the rigors of individual participation in a democratic society.” This is a quote from Shirley Hufstedler, the former U.S. Secretary of Education and it illustrates the role that teachers can play in terms of making an impact on young lives. The boys basketball team would like to thank the teachers at Kings Park High School for making a difference in their lives.
